    A laptop cooling pad to avoid overheating
The challenge

When we put the laptop under heavy use, the central processing unit (CPU) and the graphics processing unit (GPU) of a laptop start heating up. If it is put under heavy pressure for a prolonged period of time regularly, the hardware may start getting adversely affected.

The solution

We have made an Arduino UNO based laptop cooling pad which activates upon receiving input from the temperature sensor. The cooling system we have opted for is a Peltier based cooling system. When given 12V power supply, the peltier module starts heating on one side and cooling on the other. We are using the cold side of the peltier module along with fans to cool down the laptop, and for effectively dissipating the heat on the hot side we have used a heat- sink along with a dedicated fan for cooling the heat-sink.
